Josef Ressel (1793-1857) was particularly close to seafaring, his first permanent job brought him from his native Bohemia to the territory of today's Slovenia.
During his three-year service in Dolenjska, he produced the first ship's screw in the monastery forge in Pleterje; in 2020, 200 years have passed since the first experiments he did on the Krka River, later also on the Ljubljanica.
Kartuzija Pleterje, which is famous for its good wines, participated in Ressl's sparkling wine. As a basis, they took the velvet variety, which in its aroma resembles forest berries. Excellent sparkling wine with a scent of the forest.
