Piran salt - protected designation of origin

Piran salt, a noble crop of the Sečovlje Salina Landscape Park, is the result of the work of restless winds, warm sun and diligent salt workers. We grow it by hand, according to traditional methods, more than 700 years old. The basic process is natural crystallization in salt fields protected by petola - a valuable biosedimentary base composed of minerals and microorganisms. The salt with a protected designation of origin is light and has an extraordinary taste, which is complemented by mother water trapped in the crystals.
