Collection: Plums
Plum is the common name for both the fruit tree (Prunus prunus domestica) and the fruit. Češplja is only one, Slovenian autochthonous variety of plum. Places such as the villages of Slivje (Brkini) and Slivnica near Celje (municipality of Šentjur) and Slivnica near Maribor were probably named after the plums that grew in the meadows and backyards.
Plums are high in fiber, they also contain small amounts of vitamins C, A and a complex of B vitamins and minerals (from magnesium to potassium, manganese and zinc). They have a low energy value, only 46 kcal per 100 grams. Four to five plums a day (fresh or dried) has a positive effect on good digestion.
