Extra virgin olive oil of Slovenian Istria is a type of several varietal olive oils. Istrska belica, Leccino and Maurino are in the foreground, and the wide aroma is supported by olive oils of some other varieties. The taste of olive oil is fresh and fruity, markedly bitter and spicy, and moderately intense. It is characterized by a fruity aroma reminiscent of the fruit of olives, apples and fresh grass. The bitterness and spiciness are nicely distributed and combine the taste of sweet almonds. The oil is harmonious with a wide aromatic spectrum.
We recommend it with pasta, rice, red and white meat, fish, minestrone, vegetable soups and salads.
